CONTANDA TERMINALS (Former Westway Terminal Company)

For more than 60 years, Contanda has focused on satisfying customers through bulk liquid storage solutions and value-added services tailored to meet their needs. We currently operate 15 strategically located bulk liquid storage terminals with direct access to major population centers and ports across North America.     Contanda retained E&TS to provide Engineering Design Services for their green field Jacintoport petrochemical terminal project located in the Houston Ship Channel, Channelview TX. The terminal is being designed for the following inbound/outbound modes: truck, rail, barge and ships. Process, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Fire-Fighting, Electrical and Instrumentation Disciplines are in E&TS scope from basic to detailed engineering. Procurement assistance on the project major equipment is also being provided.

    Location: Channelview, Texas

    Three terminals that included 2 inland and 1marine terminal all located in Channelview, TX. E&TS performed FEED for a total of 3.78 million barrels combined of Ethanol, CBR and Chemical products, 18 truck loading/unloading spots, 170 Rail Spots for Unit Train, performed FEED for Marine Infrastructure and 2 new barge dock position, upgrade existing ship dock Infrastructure with new mooring and fendering system. E&TS performed FEED of Pipeline project in between inland terminal for approx. 1 mile of 4-12” CS pipelines by HDD method. Developed with G&A the pipeline project deliverables, submitted and had it approved by the Harris County, TX authorities for permit of HDD routing between both inland terminals.

    Location:Houston, Texas

    This project included 2 inland Terminals and 1 marine terminal located in Channelview, Texas. E&TS developed conceptual layouts, process flow diagrams, high level cost estimates and 3D presentations. The site included 3.78 million barrels combined of Ethanol, CBR and Chemical products, 18 truck loading/unloading spots and 170 Rail Spots for Unit Train, approximately 1 mile of 4-12” CS pipeline interconnecting terminals.

    Service: Engineering Services, Feasibility Studies and Construction Management
    Location: Pasadena, Texas

    One marine terminal on PoHA property in Pasadena, Texas. E&TS developed conceptual layouts at a terminal for 26.60 million barrels combined of Ethanol, CBR and Chemical products, 16-truck loading/unloading spots and 200 Rail Spots for Unit Train.

    E&TS managed several specialty sub-contractors on behalf of customer to complete Bound and Metes Survey and Topography Plan of 3 sites in Channelview, TX. Existing Dock Infrastructure Evaluation on marine terminal with Orion Marine Division Group providing diving inspection information and Hydrographic Survey of existing marine terminal slip. Preliminary Geotechnical Report of possible future terminal infrastructures at 3 sites in Channelview, TX. 

    Project: Obtain Required Permits for Dredging
    Service: Construction Management
    Location: Houston, Texas

    E&TS performed Project Management services to obtain required permits from USCOE (Corps of Engineers) and PHA (Port Houston Authority) on all terminal ship docks and barge docks (11 positions) and dredging projects at the terminal (5 yrs-10-year permit). Contracted under R&R Drafting, Inc
