Aurva Kapoor is a civil and structural engineer with over 13 years of experience, providing civil engineering solutions and consultation for the oil & gas and construction industry. Mr. Kapoor is currently a Texas Professional Engineer.
His technical skills include structural design and project management and has worked on and managed a variety of projects including commercial construction, chemical plants, storage tanks, treatment plants, transportation, and levee structures. He is experienced in designing a wide range of structures typically needed in the daily operations at petrochemical facilities. He has designed foundations for large volume liquid storage tanks, pipe racks (steel structures and foundations), below ground manifold pits for pumps and equipment; foundations for horizontal and vertical pressure vessels, vapor combustion system foundations, equipment building foundations, earth retaining structures, spill containments, chemical and storm water drainage systems, and slope stability analysis for levee structures. He has successfully designed structures tailored to customer specific operational needs and for facilities dealing with real estate constraints.
Aurva’s strengths are his creative problem-solving abilities, comfort working in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environments, thorough understanding of design codes and verbal and written communication skills. He is a skilled orator, and regularly speaks to a wide range of audience on stress management and mindfulness. He was invited to be a guest speaker for the Houston Walk for Mental Health Awareness in 2016. He is a value contributor to the Houston community, and conducts workshops on managing stress and well-being through a non-profit (Art of Living Foundation).
He holds a Bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and a Masters’ degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University where he specialized in finite element analysis and numerical modeling in his graduate research.
